Diary of a Modern Sobriety

Poem: Glass Heart

Round n around and around we go
Where it stops, we already know
Had a spark,
When it was cool to brag about it
Asphyxaabyss, burning Christmas wishes
Predicting the future, like, watch this shit
Addicted to the intensity
Intently inventing imagery inflicted with imprisoned impulsivities of intuitive introspection
Introverse,
Neurodiverse,
Immerse me in a scene of incompatible psyches
I’m cursed
Pain shared is pain lessened – Listen for the lesson
Another “blessing”
Confessions of an alcoholic
An unconvicted felon
Aladdin on my carpet
Surfin n turfin, jerk’n and slurpin
Like 711 on July 11th,
I’m overstimulated
Underpaid, under laid,
Underappreciated
Let’s talk about it
What are you afraid of?
Are you turning on love because it left you for above?
Beneath my wings, they’re beneath me
Standing on Earth incompleted
Omit my secrets, sorrows, deepest regrets and the depths of despair darken into the infinite atmosphere
Drifting away
Caught in the stardust
Limping towards the brightest star
Stop to stare
Then the glare from my glass heart exploded the sun.
